The Horror Honeys: A Year of Women in Film ~ Week 1!

A Year of Women in Film ~ Week 1!

Another year, another project at The Horror Honeys! In 2016, we took part in the #52FilmsByWomen project, putting our own spin on it by focusing on horror films and thrillers written or directed by ladies. This year, we've decided to open it up to a bigger array of genres, and are including films by iconic female writers, directors, and even producers! The list for 2017 was compiled by all the Horror Honeys, and includes some classics, as well as some lesser known favorites. So join us on our live tweeting journey. It's going to be a hell of a year.

Thelma & Louise was meant to close out our series last year, and act as our New Year's Day live tweet, but New Year's Day wasn't a bag of kittens for the Honeys in Charge. So we're going to try it again, and use this classic to start off our new project!

Not only is Thelma & Louise one of the most amazing road trip movies ever made, but it is also one of the purest on-screen expressions of female friendship ever written. Respect, protection, devotion, and undying love are what we see in Thelma and Louise's relationship as they run from the law, two rebellious redheads living life to the limit while they can. Thelma & Louise is an enduring classic, and that is thanks to the expert screenwriting of Callie Khouri, with a little help from said rebellious redheads.

Join us tonight as we watch Thelma & Louise
for our first #AYearofWomeninFilm live tweet!

Thelma & Louise is available via iTunes, Amazon Video, YouTube VOD, Vudu, Google Play, & blu-ray/DVD
