The Horror Honeys: #52FilmsByWomen with The Horror Honeys ~ Week 48!

#52FilmsByWomen with The Horror Honeys ~ Week 48!

This year, The Horror Honeys decided to take a pledge, rather than make a resolution there was zero chance of us keeping. Women in Film has launched the 52 Films by Women project, in which you take a pledge to watch just ONE film directed by a woman every week this year. Easy enough right? And since this is The Horror Honeys, we are going to guide you through the project, every week this year, with a featured horror film written or directed by a fierce female!

Check out our next pick below!

Writer/director Xan Cassavetes
It's unsurprising that Xan Cassavetes' first feature film, a vampiric love story, is so stylish, and so retro in its execution. Cassavetes' is the daughter of actor/writer/director John Cassavetes and actress Gena Rowlands. Kiss of the Damned clearly draws inspiration from 60s and 70s horror classics like Rosemary's Baby, Repulsion, and Don't Look Now, with a languid pace and dramatic flare meant for another decade. Written and directed by Xan, Kiss of the Damned is beautiful piece of throwback cinema, and one that promises a brilliant career for the filmmaker behind it.

Kiss of the Damned is available via iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube VOD, Google Play, Vudu, & DVD/Blu-ray
