The Horror Honeys: #52FilmsByWomen with The Horror Honeys ~ Week 51!

#52FilmsByWomen with The Horror Honeys ~ Week 51!

This year, The Horror Honeys decided to take a pledge, rather than make a resolution there was zero chance of us keeping. Women in Film has launched the 52 Films by Women project, in which you take a pledge to watch just ONE film directed by a woman every week this year. Easy enough right? And since this is The Horror Honeys, we are going to guide you through the project, every week this year, with a featured horror film written or directed by a fierce female!

Check out our next pick below!

Director Karyn Kusama
If you grew up watching Aeon Flux as part of Liquid Television on MTV (back when MTV was awesome... bless you if you're old enough to remember that), then you were probably stoked beyond believe when it was announced that a film was finally being adapted based on the show. While the movie wasn't perfect, director Karyn Kusama managed to beautifully capture the dark, dystopian madness that made the original show so compelling. And really, the casting of Charlize Theron was fairly spot-on. The film version of Aeon Flux may not be as Kusama imagined it thanks to studio meddling, but her style and influence is still present, and it is a solid companion to the show a lot of us grew up adoring.

Watch Aeon Flux this week
and tweet us when you do, using the #52FilmsByWomen!

Aeon Flux is available via iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube VOD, Google Play, Vudu, & blu-ray/DVD
