The trailer for Officer Downe, based on a graphic novel of the same name, dropped recently and it looks like a ton of violent fun. In his directorial debut, M. Shawn Crahan, a.motherfucking.k.a Clown from Slipknot, has created a super stylized, action-filled film peppered with a ton of guns and some witty one-liners, and frankly, I’m ready for some fun.
The cast of Officer Downe features several recognizable faces from television: Lauren Velez (Dexter), Sam Witwer (Once Upon A Time, Being Human) as well as Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy). As a fan of Sons of Anarchy, I always get excited to see the actors from the show in new work. Kim Coates was easily one of the best actors on the series, so to see him carry a film like this is going to be AWESOME.
Here’s a quick synopsis of the film from Magnolia Pictures & Magnet Releasing:
Adapted from the 2010 graphic novel by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham, Officer Downe concocts a hyper-real Los Angeles for the story of a savage LA policeman who is repeatedly resurrected and returned to active duty via dark science technology. When a rookie officer named Gable is recruited as back up, he discovers there's much more to the titular super-cop than a mindless law enforcement drone warring against a twisted rouges gallery of over-the-top super-villains.
Yup. I’m excited for some butt-kicking action this November 18. Check out the trailer below!
