The Horror Honeys: #52FilmsByWomen with The Horror Honeys ~ Week 40!

#52FilmsByWomen with The Horror Honeys ~ Week 40!

This year, The Horror Honeys decided to take a pledge, rather than make a resolution there was zero chance of us keeping. Women in Film has launched the 52 Films by Women project, in which you take a pledge to watch just ONE film directed by a woman every week this year. Easy enough right? And since this is The Horror Honeys, we are going to guide you through the project, every week this year, with a featured horror film written or directed by a fierce female!

Take the pledge yourself here, and check out our next pick below!

There are no pictures anywhere of director Marina Sargenti.
There isn't anything better than a 90s film about a teen girl getting mixed up in black magic, especially when that films stars Karen Black, Yvonne De Carlo, and the fantastically-named Rainbow Harvest. Mirror Mirror is the cinematic mom to a film like The Craft, in which the teen (goth) outcast finds solace and acceptance in world outside her own. Both written and directed by women, Mirror Mirror has a kind of sensitivity you rarely see in teen horror films. This is definitely one of the most criminally underrated movies we've covered over the course of this project so far!

Watch Mirror, Mirror this week and tweet us
when you do, using the #52FilmsByWomen!

Mirror, Mirror is available on YouTube, so no excuses!
(It's sequel, Mirror, Mirror 2: Raven Dance is also on YouTube, and it's pretty fun)
