The Horror Honeys: Sci-Fi(ish) Honey Jam ~ 'Muddy Waters'

Sci-Fi(ish) Honey Jam ~ 'Muddy Waters'

It is not clear why we choose the fire pathway
Where we end is not the way that we had planned
All the spirits gather 'round like its our last day
To get across you know we’ll have to raise the sand
Oooh, I will ask you for mercy
I will come to you blind
What you’ll see is the worst me
I'm not the last of my kind

Here at the Horror Honeys, we are huge fans of singer-songwriter LP. Her songs are as beautiful and fascinating as her unforgettable voice; you could pick pretty much any track and end up obsessed. But the song "Muddy Waters," from her Death Valley EP, is this week's Honey Jam, because there is something almost post-apocalyptic about it. You can practically hear it playing over a scene of dirt-caked survivors, wandering a barren, war-torn landscape. (If a music supervisor steals this idea, we'll hex them. Just putting it out there). Listen to "Muddy Waters" below, then check out the rest of LP's amazing catalogue! You won't regret it. ~RH
