This year, The Horror Honeys decided to take a pledge, rather than make a resolution there was zero chance of us keeping. Women in Film has launched the 52 Films by Women project, in which you take a pledge to watch just ONE film directed by a woman every week this year. Easy enough right? And since this is The Horror Honeys, we are going to guide you through the project, every week this year, with a featured horror film written or directed by a fierce female!
Take the pledge yourself here, and check out our next pick below!
If there pretension became anthropomorphic and began walking around, smoking hand-rolled cigarettes and not washing its hair, I believe it would Vincent Gallo. Despite my disdain for Gallo and his schtick, I found Claire Denis' Trouble Every Day, to be a deeply provocative film. Also written by Denis (and Jean-Pol Fargeu), this bloody meditation on the numbness of modern relationships may be out there, but one thing is for damn sure... You will never get it out of your head once you've seen it.
Trouble Every Day is available via Shudder, iTunes, Amazon Prime, YouTube VOD, Google Play, & DVD
