The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ Michael Shannon is... Bigfoot? GIMMEE NOW!

Honey Buzz ~ Michael Shannon is... Bigfoot? GIMMEE NOW!

Ron Perlman and Michael Shannon's production companies are teaming up to bring us a Bigfoot dramedy starring both of them, as well as Judy Greer, Thomas Lennon, Christina Hendricks, and Ian McShane?

Shot in Upstate New York, the plot of Pottersville is as follows, and practically had me giggling with girlish glee:

"... Maynard, (Shannon), a beloved local businessman... is mistaken for the legendary Bigfoot during an inebriated romp through town in a makeshift gorilla costume. The sightings set off an international Bigfoot media spectacle and a windfall of tourism dollars for a simple American town hit by hard times. When Brock Masterson (Lennon), reality TV’s “Monster Hunter,” arrives to hunt the beast, Maynard agonizes over whether to come clean, destroying the rebirth of his beloved town, or perpetuate the inadvertent hoax." (Deadline)

Besides the opportunity for fabulously awkward hilarity (Shannon isn't know for how funny he is, but he should be), Pottersville is also interesting in that it is the first film shot with the help of SUNY Polytechnic Institute, taking advantage of the state's film tax credit. Ron Perlman's Wing and a Prayer Productions is based out of Syracuse, in an attempt to build up the film industry in the area and offer real-wold movie opportunities to local students.

So not only is Pottersville setting the scene for some awesome small-town weirdness, but it's providing opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers! That is a Horror-Honey approved venture right there.

Will you be adding Pottersville to your "to watch" list?
