While the comic-to-film industry is plugging along, the video game-to-film industry has never exactly taken off, despite decades of valiant effort. Dedicated gamers have their hopes and Ruinous Gutrippers raised high that June's World of Warcraft film will be the one to break the curse, but critics suspect that Justin Kurzel's Assassin's Creed is the movie that will appeal to both hardcore gamers and newbs alike.
And after staring at these new production stills for a while, I have to say... Not only is my gamer side adequately pleased, but my panties have officially been assassinated.

While we still don't have a trailer for AC, these still show us Fassbender as both the modern day Callum Lynch, and his 15th Century ancestor, Aguilar. The exact plot of the film has been kept strictly under wraps, but it's pretty clear that the screenplay is only using the game's framework, and spinning its own historical yarn. And given the time frame, and the setting of Spain, one can't help but wonder (one being me) if this is going to be an Inquisition based story?

Regardless, there is a chance we may finally get a trailer for Assassin's Creed before X-Men: Apocalypse, so finger's crossed! Otherwise, more waiting for information on what the future with Fassy holds.
UPDATE: We work in the dark to serve the light. We... are assassins.
THE TRAILER IS HERE GUYS AND I WAS RIGHT ABOUT IT BEING THE SPANISH INQUISITION! Man, it's hard being so right all the time.
Are you stoked for Assassin's Creed?
