The Horror Honeys: Saturday Creepy Holiday Cartoon ~ 'The Snow Man'

Saturday Creepy Holiday Cartoon ~ 'The Snow Man'

A Horror-able Holiday with the Horror Honeys Cartoon!

If you're looking for a lovable scamp of a snowman with a corncob pipe and a button nose, you're not going to find him in 1932's The Snow Man, a cartoon of dramatically fucked-up proportions. But, if you prefer your snowy cartoon cinema of the, "wait. whaaaat?" variety, then join us as we visit an arctic village that is home to... THE SNOW MAN!

Dun dun dun...

Cool it with the tunes, Peter Penguin. Trouble is coming.
The Snow Man was created during a time when everyone was trying to re-create the success of James Whale's Frankenstein, or in the alternative, attempting to keep up with the animation of Walt Disney. Apparently, animator Ted Eshbaugh wanted to do both with his cartoon, The Snow Man. While he was never able to compete with a giant like Disney, many of Eshbaugh's short films have survived, and some are just as memorable as the original Disney cartoons. In the case of The Snow Man, just TRY and put the memory of this terrifying short out of your head.

Happy Holidays! I eat your face, please?
