The Horror Honeys: Zombie Buzz ~ Forest of Hands and Teeth and Maisie Williams

Zombie Buzz ~ Forest of Hands and Teeth and Maisie Williams

Zombie Honey Buzz by Bella

It seems that our dear Arya Stark (Game of Thrones - in case you didn’t know) is growing up. Which was bound to happen. I mean, you don’t wield a sword and a list of people you aim to kill without being a little beyond your years, yeah? Oh, right, she’s also moving out. Not permanently, of course. Maisie Williams (Arya Stark - in case you didn’t know) is in talks to take the lead in the YA novel-to-film adaptation of The Forest of Hands and Teeth.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth is a series of YA novels described as: “A post-zombie apocalypse series of love, loss, and survival in a world surrounded by death.” Apparently, it’s also a world surrounded by a wall with flesh-hungry zombies on the other side. So...awesome!

Outside of this announcement, news is sparse regarding Maisie’s leap from winter zombies to forest zombies, but we do know that she’ll be Mary; a head-strong character who is none too content staying on the not-undead side of her village wall. Pulling together a ragtag group of survivors, Mary intends to make her way through the forest of “Unconsecrated” and head towards the safety of… the ocean.

Arya of Hands and Teeth and Sword.
I’m getting a very little bit of a Hunger Games vibes from this (probably because of the YA tropes)… but with zombies. Which really, HUNGER. Games. Should have always been a zombie story, if you ask me. Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing Maisie stretch her wings and hone her acting chomps… no, sorry, chops. Acting chops

We also know the film will be written and directed by Kate Mabery (The Secret Garden) and produced by Doug Liman (The Bourne series and Edge of Tomorrow).
