The Horror Honeys: Vampire Jam - 'Love Song for a Vampire'

Vampire Jam - 'Love Song for a Vampire'

Once I had the rarest rose
That ever deigned to bloom.
Cruel winter chilled the bud
And stole my flower too soon.
Oh loneliness - oh hopelessness
To search the ends of time
For there is in all the world
No greater love than mine.

At Honey HQ, there is no question: Bram Stoker's Dracula is one of our favorite films. The gothic romance just make our little black hearts flutter. But one of my favorite elements of Francis Ford Coppola's film has always been a song written for the movie by Annie Lennox, "Love Song for a Vampire." Who else but Lennox could capture the dark longing of Stoker's book and the timeless romance of Coppola's film? Annie Lennox is a treasure. I may start a petition for her to have a song on every film soundtrack for the rest of eternity. ~RH
