The Horror Honeys: Supernatural Sunday Jam - 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'

Supernatural Sunday Jam - 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'

Das some hair, right there!

Every now and then I get a little bit restless
And I dream of something wild
Every now and then I get a little bit helpless
And I'm lying like a child in your arms
Every now and then I get a little bit angry
And I know I've got to get out and cry
Every now and then I get a little bit terrified
But then I see the look in your eyes

While many people have their own theories about the meaning of this Bonnie Tyler chest thumper, few people seem to know the song's actual origin. Written by Jim Steinman (writing partner of Meat Loaf, known for his own cryptic power ballads), "Total Eclipse" was actually intended to be part of a musical based on Roman Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers. The song was meant to be an epic moment of revelation for the virginal heroine as she tries to resist the all-consuming love of a dashing vampire.

So while many people think this was a creepy ass love song about a teacher and her student (based on the ridiculously cheesy video), the next time you sing this ballad at karaoke, just remember: vampires.

And just for fun, the literal version of the Total Eclipse of the Heart video.
Because let's be honest: this video is ridiculous.
