The Horror Honeys: Spooky Kid Saturday Jam ~ 'Superstar'

Spooky Kid Saturday Jam ~ 'Superstar'

Loneliness is a such a sad affair
And I can hardly wait to be with you again
What to say to make you come again
Come back to me again
And play your sad guitar
Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby
You said you'd be coming back this way again baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby, I love you I really do

In 1996, I was still mostly watching the horror films that were suggested to me by my horror-loving grandfather, the majority of which were either classics, or movies based on the works of Stephen King. However, Peter Jackson's The Frighteners is one of the first horror movies I discovered on my own, and as a result, I have been in love with it ever since. As a bonus, The Frighteners introduced 13-year-old me to Sonic Youth, via their cover of The Carpenters classic "Superstar." Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore may have since broken up (both their marriage and the band) thus breaking my 13-year-old heart, but my love of "Superstar," and The Frighteners, lives on. ~RH
