The Horror Honeys: Undead Thursday Jam - 'The Man Comes Around'

Undead Thursday Jam - 'The Man Comes Around'

The hairs on your arm will stand up.
At the terror in each sip and in each sup.
For you partake of that last offered cup,
Or disappear into the potter's ground.
When the man comes around.
Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers.
One hundred million angels singin'.
Multitudes are marching to the big kettle drum.
Voices callin', voices cryin'.
Some are born an' some are dyin'.
It's Alpha's and Omega's Kingdom come.

When Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake was released, a Johnny Cash track might seem like a strange choice to play over the opening credits. However, when you listen to the lyrics of his song, "The Man Comes Around," this creepy apocalypse tune is kind of perfect. And it's even more perfect when you hear it accompanying clips of death, destruction, and flesh-eating. Watch Dawn of the Dead again, and then just try to hear this song the same way. I dare you. ~RH
