The Horror Honeys: Horror TV Tuesday Jam ~ 'Love Remains the Same'

Horror TV Tuesday Jam ~ 'Love Remains the Same'

A thousand times I've seen you standing
Gravity like lunar landing
You make me wanna run till I find you
I shut the world away from here
Drift to you, you're all I hear
As everything we know fades to black
Half the time the world is ending
Truth is I am done pretending

If you weren't in love with Gavin Rossdale in the 90s... I don't believe I care to know you. Sure, Bush's songs didn't make a shitload of sense. But was that the point? NO! IT WASN'T! It was the 90s. I had the lyrics to "Glycerine" scrawled all over my notebooks and if you think that's weird, congratulations; you agree with 99% of the other teenagers I knew. Hence why I spent a lot of time alone.

Anywho, Harper's Island was a fabulous show that aired on CBS for one glorious season, as the best shows often do. It took the slasher film format and stretched it out across a season, dispatching a character or two every week until we finally discovered who the killer was in the final episode. It was a fairly original format, especially given that the show was on CBS. Rossdale's solo single, "Love Remains the Same" appeared in Harper's Island's premiere episode "Whap," (each episode was named after the sound of a victim's death... brilliant), and set the tone for some pretty epically soundtracked moments across the series. You can get Harper's Island on DVD and it's worth the investment, so get on it! ~RH
