The Horror Honeys: Horror TV Tuesday Jam ~ 'Carry On My Wayward Son'

Horror TV Tuesday Jam ~ 'Carry On My Wayward Son'

Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming,
I can hear them say
Carry on my wayward son,
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

When it comes to modern day horror TV jams, there may be no one tune more connected to a show than the Kansas classic, "Carry On Wayward Son." And of course, we have Sam and Dean Winchester of Supernatural to thank for making the classic rock tune popular to an entirely new generation of music-lovers. "Carry On" has been used multiple times over the course of the series, mostly because the lyrics so acutely represent Sam and Dean's journey against the forces of darkness. They also seem like they could have inspired the relationship between the Winchester boys and their father. So while it may only be the unofficial theme song of Supernatural, it's easily become the song most engrained with our memories with it. And always remember...

"Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole." ~RH
