The Horror Honeys: Horror TV Jam ~ 'White Rabbit'

Horror TV Jam ~ 'White Rabbit'

When the men on the chessboard get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom, and your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice, I think she'll know
When logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead
And the white knight is talking backwards
And the red queen's off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head...

I may have been less-than-thrilled with NBC's Aquarius after the premiere: it doesn't seem to know if it wants to be a show about Charles Manson or a standard NBC police procedural (Law & Order: The Love Generation). However, one element of Aquarius that is fucking stellar is the music. Loaded to the brim with classic 60s rock, the songs that the music supervisors chose for Aquarius are perfect, in that they are the ones that do nothing to pretty up what was a tumultuous time in America, and abroad. My favorite so far has been the liberal use of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit." To a generation of children abandoning their parents' ideals in favor of forging their own path to adulthood, real life WAS Wonderland, but you had no White Rabbit to lead you through the madness.

Heavy shit, man. If only Aquarius was as deep as its soundtrack. ~RH
