The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ All the 'Independence Day 2' News!

Honey Buzz ~ All the 'Independence Day 2' News!

Is this the real poster? Nope.
But it's pretty as fuck.
Over the last few days, we have been treated to a flux of news regarding Rolland Emmerich's now-filming sequel, Independence Day 2. So what do we know so far?

A plot, some casting, and that Jeff Goldblum is still fine as fuck, for starters...

Whether you are highly anticipating or highly dreading the sequel to Independence Day, and it could feasibly be either given that it's coming twenty years after the original, it seems that a new tidbit on the film is being released every day. Today? A plot description snuck up on the film's Rotten Tomatoes page. Is it real? Could be... But right now, it's all we have outside some seriously vague character descriptions. The plot is as follows:

"We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global catastrophe on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction."

So that's a bummer. We also know Maika Monroe is playing a grown up Patricia Whitmore (who was played by Mae Whitman in the original... Whitman is still acting... don't GET me started), Jesse Usher is playing a grown up Will Smith's stepson, and Wren Barnes is playing "Girl Driving Her Car Away from Chaos."

Seriously. It's better than Girl #2, I suppose.

Obviously, Goldblum is back on board, and if IMDb is to be believed, so are Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch (YAY!), and Brent Spiner. No word yet on whether or not Randy Quaid will be returning from the real-life alien spaceship he's currently riding around Vancouver Island in Canada.

Are you looking forward to ID2? Not?
