The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ M Night Shayamalan goes Blumhouse...

Honey Buzz ~ M Night Shayamalan goes Blumhouse...

Just when you thought Blumhouse had run out of fresh ideas, M. Night Shyamalan is here to save the day!

The much maligned writer/director/actor has partnered with Blumhouse for his new film, The Visit, and the first poster has been released - it's actually super cute.

According to SlashFilm a pre-release trailer has been played with some showings of Unfriended, but an official one hasn't gone online just yet... plus, I'm never seeing Unfriended, so that option is a bust anyway.

The Blumhouse Special "low budget high expectation" formula is at work again here, as the film features two siblings whose visit to their grandparents’ farm gets weird - as visiting with grandparents typically does... at least it always did for me.

The plot: Shyamalan returns to his roots (LOL so it won't be anything like The Happening?) with the terrifying story of a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip (close quarter filming is great for budget restraints).  Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.

So... what are Gran and PopPop getting up to after 930pm? Is it a Satanic orgy? Seances? Cannibalism? Considering the production studio, it's more than likely going to have a supernatural bent. My grandparents were always in bed by 7pm when I was growing up, so any elderly person up after 8pm is kind of terrifying already.

Also... check that KEY PHRASE on the poster...  "An original thriller..." we shall see...

The Visit comes to theatres on September 11th 2015
Watch for the trailer later this week!
