The Horror Honeys: Saturday Morning Horror Cartoon ~ 'One Winter's Night'

Saturday Morning Horror Cartoon ~ 'One Winter's Night'

One of my favorite jobs as a Horror Honey is hunting down your Saturday Morning Horror Cartoons. There is little better in this world than a truly creepy horror cartoon. But this week's horror cartoon? It's just a little different than anything we've featured before. Because this week's horror cartoon scared the ever-loving crap out of me.

Ready an extra pair of shorts, because you're going to need them for Emlyn Boyle's One Winter's Night.

One Winter's Night begins like a sweet Irish poem, with just a slight undercurrent of dread as evidenced in a little girl's eyes. But as the short film continues, we hear a beautiful and terrifying story of a little boy who runs afoul of a mysterious vampire while playing his flute in the woods. Can a young friendship withstand the dangers of the little boy's new life as one of the undead?

Outside of the lovely music and the endearing animation, I can say with all honesty that a single moment in One Winter's Night scared me more than any Blumhouse movie has ever done. I jumped so violently, my computer almost fell all off my lap. And if that isn't a vote of confidence in your Saturday Morning Horror Cartoon, well, then I don't know what is.

Enjoy your cartoon, and as always:

Have a creepy SaturdaySpooky Kids!
