Honey Buzz ~ More 'Miss Peregrine' Casting News!

Ever since Tim Burton announced he was optioning Ransom Riggs's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, I've been making this face:

On the surface, the novel about a boy transported through time to a school that houses children with exceptional abilities SEEMS like an ideal Burton project. However, given Burtons track record as of late (Dark Shadows, the blatant Oscar grab attempt that was Big Eyes), I'm not 100% sure I trust him with the material. Another however, however... the casting on Miss Peregrine has been so consistently solid, that I'm softening to project.

Via Variety, this latest casting news might put me solidly, but cautiously, on board.

Already cast in the film version of Miss Peregrine are Eva Green as the titular teacher (sploosh), Asa Butterfield as Jacob, the time traveling boy, and Samuel L. Jackson as Barron, the groundskeeper/bus driver. Now, Allison Janney (The West Wing, Mom, Masters of Sex) has been brought onto the film as Jacob's psychiatrist. Regardless of where you stand on the film, this is some solid casting. And because Miss Peregrine is a trilogy, we know that the cast is here to stay, so it's important that careful attention is paid to who populates the first film. So you know, this wasn't a bad idea:
