The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ MOAR BLUMHOUSE!

One day, I hope to grow up to be a first time director who gets handed a big figure film project from a major moneymaking studio. But I digress.

Blumhouse is hard at work film that is currently listed on IMDb as Untitled Joel Edgerton Project - snappy, huh? It's also (apparently?) been tentatively titled Weirdo (which also sucks) now has an official title. STX Entertainment said today that Joel Edgerton’s directorial debut will be titled The Gift because not only is Blumhouse bad at making original movies, they're also bad a titling films too. In January, Deadline confirmed that Jason Bateman would star alongside the director in the psychological thriller, which means I now HAVE to watch it, because Jason Bateman. Sigh.

Co-star Rebecca Hall: She always looks adorably disheveled.

Something else Blumhouse is good at is scheduling release dates before production has officially started... The Gift is set for a July 31, 2015 release.

The story: Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall (Transcendence) play Simon and Robin, a husband and wife who are out to reinvigorate their relationship with a fresh beginning in a new town. But their lives are disrupted by chance encounter with a “friend” (Edgerton - because why the fuck not) from the Simon’s past who holds a horrifying secret about him, sending their world into a tailspin.
Good luck, bro.
