The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ 'The Purge 3' - No Fucks to be Had

Honey Buzz ~ 'The Purge 3' - No Fucks to be Had

If you're anything like me, you gave up on The Purge after their first entitled attempt at creating a "new" kind of home invasion film. While I was REALLY stoked on the original premise, by the time the movie was halfway through, I had unknowingly crushed several beer cans and thoroughly annoyed my husband with my pissed off commentary. SO, suffice to say, I didn't buy into the hype surrounding the release of The Purge:Anarchy this past summer, and I still haven't seen it.

BUT for those who are totally into the series, this piece of news is for you!

Sorry not sorry.

Rumors that The Purge 3, would explore the origins of the Purge itself and the societal dystopia that inspired it actually had me intrigued enough to be willing to give it a shot when it's predicted 2016 release date was announced. I'm a sucker for prequels, especially dystopian prequels. But, according to an interview with Collider, Platinum Dunes heads Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, who are producers on the Purge franchise, are responsible for destroying the rest of my interest in this film franchise for the disenfranchised.

The Purge: Anarchy star Frank Grillo is rumored to be a strong possibility to return in Purge 3, and Fuller hasn’t ruled that out either, having told Collider “[If] it works to have him back we would really be very excited.”

Fuller on the prequel rumors: “I read that too about the first night of The Purge.  We don’t know anything about that.  I read that and I haven’t heard that so I’m not sure what that was.  The material that we’re considering right now [for 'The Purge 3'] is not the first night of The Purge.”

Oh look... there go all those fucks I might have had.
