The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ James Wan's "Demonic"

Honey Buzz ~ James Wan's "Demonic"

Wait... so it's the house? Sigh.
Le sigh.

Another year, another late to the party found footage/documentary style film about entitled morons meddling with shit they just shouldn't. Thank the tentacled ones for Frank Grillo, amirite?

James Wan's newest production/co-writing venture is Demonic. Demonic is a familiar story that I've seen better done in an episode of Supernatural. "Ghost Facers," anyone? According to IMDb, the story is a simple one: A police officer and a psychologist investigate the deaths of five people who were killed while trying to summon ghosts. Naturally, they don't believe that the lone survivor didn't kill his friends, and then hilarity ensues.

What's in the trailer: The entire film. As per usual. You'll even see a patented James Wan "old lady ghost" jump scare. This recurring spectre (The Conjuring, Dead Silence, Insidious) tells me that Mr. Wan was scared of his grandmother when he was younger, and I get it. Old people are terrifying.

Demonic stars Maria Bello (A History of Violence), Frank Grillo (The Purge 2), Cody Horn (Rescue Me) and a host of "up and comer's" (aka, the ones that die first). No release date has been set for Demonic, but IMDb dates it for 2015, so expect a hyped up October/Halloween release.

Sidenote: Whoever has the job of titling major studio release films, I'd like to meet you, knock you the fuck out out and take your job. Clearly, you're not working hard enough for your paycheque. Seriously.
