The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ Cthulhu and Doctor Strange? I Think We Like It.

Honey Buzz ~ Cthulhu and Doctor Strange? I Think We Like It.

Earlier this week, Jon Spaihts, the screenwriter for Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange film, tweeted something that comic book fans have been puzzling over, but an astute fellow at Big Comic Page was not fooled for a moment.

BCP posits that this tweet is a hint to the storyline for Doctor Strange, and as a Horror Honey, I can't pass this shit up:

Pictured above is a passage from an unfinished H.P. Lovecraft story, Azathoth. Azathoth is a deity in Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, and while the deity makes no appearance in the fragment of the short story... Lovecraft and comic fans can finally find some congruency in this little tidbit:

Azathoth begins by describing how the modern world has been stripped of imagination and belief in magic (true...). The protagonist is an unnamed man who lives in a dull and ugly city (oh lord, I can picture it now). Every night for many years the man gazes from his window upon the stars, until he comes over time to observe secret vistas unsuspected by normal humanity. One night the gulf between his world and the stars is bridged, and his mind ascends from his body out unto the boundless cosmos.
Oops. When you gaze too long into the abyss... the abyss gazes back.
Sounds pretty legit for Doctor Strange, no? Now, whether or not madness and tentacles will follow remains to be seen, but I, for one, am all over that shit.

What do YOU think this all means? Tell me on Twitter - Head Honey
