The Horror Honeys: Hardcover Thursday Jam ~ 'Poor, Poor Pitiful Me'

Hardcover Thursday Jam ~ 'Poor, Poor Pitiful Me'

Well I lay my head on the railroad track
Waiting on the Double E
But the train don't run by here no more
Poor poor pitiful me
Oh these boys won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me
Woe woe is me

She was perfection. Don't you deny it!
"Raped by a ghost" is one of those phrases that is hard to put out of your mind. That is why The Entity, based on book by Frank De Felitta/the true story of Carla Moran who was sexually assaulted and tormented by a demon only she could see, always sticks with you. Because, again... raped by a ghost. For all its potential to be cheesy and Lifetime Movie-esque, The Entity is actually a frightening film that holds up well past its 1982 release. Included in the movie was the song "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" by classic rock siren Linda Ronstadt. It may sound peppy, but the song is pretty fucking dark. And somehow, it just suited The Entity in the creepiest ways possible. So see The Entity if you haven't, and enjoy this week's classic rock Honey Jam! ~RH
