The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ 'Saw' Re-Release a Bomb of Epic Proportions...

Honey Buzz ~ 'Saw' Re-Release a Bomb of Epic Proportions...

When it came to talk about the Halloween box office over the weekend, everyone was focused on a dead heat (hehe... dead heat... Halloween pun) between Nightcrawler and Ouija. But there wasn't one peep about Lionsgate's 10th anniversary re-release of franchise-starter Saw. Why, you may be asking yourself?

Because the re-release of Saw was the third biggest box office bomb since box office takings actually started getting recorded in 1982.

Everyone at Lionsgate right now...

To put this into perspective, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, a movie that heralded the end of Eddie Murphy's legitimate career and literally no one saw, STILL did better than the Saw re-release. Why? Probably because anyone who likes the movie already owns it and the rest of us are completely fed up with this beaten horse of a franchise that was dead five years ago, but which Lionsgate kept beating like a red-headed stepchild. So let this be a lesson to you, movie studios. Easy cash grabs may seem smart, but horror fans aren't as stupid as you seem to think we are.
