When you're listening to a band called "Gatsby's American Dream," you would expect the songs to be more of the Fitzgerald/Hemingway variety. However, the first song I ever from this Seattle rock band was Fable, based on William Golding's Lord of the Flies. And in fact, their influences run the gamut from Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings to PeeWee's Big Adventure and Animal Farm. So basically, if you're looking for a "smarty pants" band who loves literary allusion songs, this is the band for you! In the meantime, enjoy this week's Hardcover Jam: Fable...
