The Horror Honeys: Honey Buzz ~ Two Horror Soundtracks Coming to... Vinyl.

Honey Buzz ~ Two Horror Soundtracks Coming to... Vinyl.

Okay, let's just get this out in the open: while I'm sure every Honey has SOME element of hipster to her (but we hate everything because almost everything is awful, not because hating everything is cool), we are far enough removed from the culture that we can safely roll our eyes and feel justified. One particular hipster obsession that receives a lot of EPIC eye rolls is vinyl culture. While I admit to owning a handful of records, most were handed down to me from my parents. But the compulsive desire to only listen to music on a record player because it "sounds better?"

However, it's no surprise that labels are pandering to horror fans AND vinyl culture by "exclusively" releasing limited edition soundtracks... that then come with a code to download the music from the web and on to your iPhone, which was put together by tiny, starving Chinese children.

However, if you are a collector of vinyl, Waxwork records is releasing a vinyl edition of the Trick 'r Treat soundtrack. The best thing in this case is the cover artwork, which was done by comic book artist Francesco Francavilla.

Additionally, Invada and Milan Records paired up with Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn to put together a limited edition vinyl of the (original) Oldboy soundtrack. You can listen to a track from the release below...

So while the art on both of these releases is pretty fabulous, still. Vinyl. Will YOU be purchasing either of these limited edition items?
