Honey Buzz: New Stills from 'Town That Dreaded Sundown' Remake...

One of the greatest (and most terrifying) true crime films ever made, The Town That Dreaded Sundown, has had a remake in the work for ages. Literally. It feels like they've been working on this damn remake since the original film came out. But finally producers Jason Blum and Ryan Murphy (who make almost as much crap as they do quality product), have released a few stills to prove that indeed, The Town That Dreaded Sundown was actually filmed and may be released very soon!

But if there isn't a trumpet murder, I'm walking my ass RIGHT OUT OF THE THEATER!

Based on the STILL unsolved Texarkana murders from 1946, the original Town followed the Phantom Killer on his path of death and destruction, as well as the effect the event had on the small southern border city. The NEW version of Town is going in a decidedly different direction: when a copy cat begins killing people during Texarkana's annual tribute screening of The Town That Dread Sundown, a young girl must figure out who this new masked murderer is before it's too late...

Yup, that is pretty fucking meta.

While no wide-scale release date has been announced yet, according to Shock Till You Drop, the movie will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in the fall. So keep an eye out for more news about Sackhead/Phantom Killer after the film screens for critics. In the meantime... here are stills from the remake!

I don't see any trumpets, godsdamnit!
