Honey Buzz: 'The Last Witch Hunter' Finally Cast a Witch!

So before we launch into this piece of Honey Buzz, we are going to throw a little early morning Honey PSA at you. Today's PSA is titled:

How to Avoid Misogyny in Your Horror News Source

One source (cough cough DREAD CENTRAL cough cough) reporting on the tidbit we are sharing with you today opened their story with the following line: "On tap for you today is more casting news for The Last Witch Hunter, the upcoming film which pits badass Vin Diesel up against a coven of vengeful she-bitches."

Um, no. No, it does not.

So, just a kind Honey suggestion. If you happen to notice that kind of unnecessary gender-baiting bullshit in a NEWS item, it might be time to find a new news source.

That concludes this week's Honey PSA! Moving on...

According to Deadline, an international casting search has finally brought Vin Diesel his very own witch queen in German actress Julie Engelbrecht! Engelbrecht will make her American film debut in forthcoming The Last Witch Hunter, starring as the immortal leader of a deadly coven opposite witch hunters and mortal witch enemies, Diesel, Elijah Wood, Rose Leslie, and Michael Caine.

While not yet known to North American audiences, Engelbrecht has been acting since she was twelve in her native France and Germany, starring in various film and television roles. Her credits include Adieu, mon ami, Before The Fall, Rasmus and Johanna, The Red Baron, Berlin 36, and Rumpelstilzchen. The Last Witch Hunter is being directed by Breck Eisner, who's last film credit was a remake of George Romero's The Crazies, a film I actually enjoyed. And while I don't normally jump at Vin Diesel movies, I will line up for pretty much any film about a witch without question.

Well... dost thou?
