Because Under the Dome just wasn't enough! Word from Deadline is that after some serious competition, CBS has acquired the television rights to Stephen King's The Things They Left Behind. Based on a King short story from the book Transgressions, the series will be penned by Seth Grahame-Smith, "author" of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. Hopefully, unlike with THAT creation, he actually read the source material before starting work.

More info after the jump!

Scripted as a supernatural police procedural, The Things They Left Behind is set in the period following September 11th and follows two detectives as they assist the dead is carrying out unfinished business. The show will be produced by Greg Berlanti, who is also currently working on the CW's DC-based superhero shows Arrow, The Flash, and the upcoming Supergirl.
