The Horror Honeys: Friday Favorites: Twisted Fairy Tales!

Friday Favorites: Twisted Fairy Tales!

Fallen Princesses Series, by Dina Goldstein
Everyone grew up on fairytales (either via Disney or just by reading the books we were supplied in our little kid libraries). But how many of us knew the actual twisted stories that supplied the inspiration for favorites like The Little Mermaid, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty? The Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson, and Aesop crafted some of the most disturbing tales for children ever imagined, most of which were "prettified" for the kiddies in later years. However, the Horror Honeys love the crap out of the original fairy tales, because lets be real, they're scarier than half the horror movies out there. So today, we share our favorite fairy tales... but happy endings? Not so much.
